Seasonal Flu Clinic
Seasonal Flu is a serious illness, very different from a ‘common cold’.
Unfortunately up to 12000 people in the UK ( mainly the elderly and those with conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and emphysema) will die each year from this condition.
For this reason we run a series of flu clinics when we offer vaccination against Flu.

Those with emphysema (COPD)

|
·
|
Those who have had or do have angina or heart disease
|
|
·
|
Those who have had a stroke or ‘mini-stroke’ (TIA)

In addition those who are carers may be eligible for vaccination.
If you have any doubt as to your eligibility for vaccination then please ask your GP or Practice Nurse. Alternatively you can check the posters in the surgery which will be on display in the Surgery from August onwards.
If you do miss the special clinics then you may still be able to get your vaccination by booking to see the practice nurse. Ask at reception for details about this.
To try and ease congestion and waiting times for patients, this years Seasonal Flu vaccinations are being issued on an appointment basis.
We are sending out 300 letters per day to patients entitled to this vaccination. Within this letter is a dedicated "Flu line" telephone number for you to book your appointment
We are always looking for ways to improve our systems and would be grateful for any feedback on the new Flu clinic booking system.
